The windows of several Mustang businesses, church busses and personal vehicles were shot with a BB gun on Monday evening, according to Mustang Police. Capt. Willard James said the culprits shot windows at Tate Publishing, Mustang Mandarin, Braum's, Tator's Cafe and the Canadian Valley Vo-Tech Center. Vehicle windows were damaged at several area residences, in the Wal-Mart parking lot, and at the First Baptist Church windows in three buses were shot.
James said police do not consider this just a prank or child vandalism.
"We consider this a heinous crime because it will cost business owners and citizens an estimated $12,000 to $15,000 to repair the damage," James said.
In what police believe was a separate incident, six large lights at the school soccer field were shot out causing an estimated $1,200 in damage.
James said police are asking for anyone with any information regarding these incidents to call the police investigative unit at 376-3733.
